One way to accelerate our students’ reading achievement is to start the year with a bang! This workshop attempts to share ideas about how to kick of the first 3 weeks of school so that we rapidly get kids 1) listening and enjoying read alouds and 2) reading real books themselves!
Differentiated centers and small group instruction that target students’ Most Pressing Needs are the avenue for rapid reading acquisition. Try the whole plan or take a principle or idea that inspires you. And see how far your students can go…even in the first month of school!
