I set out my Sort It recording pages like this when I work with small groups of children.
I have the words on flash cards.
First we sort the words orally together on the floor.
Then the students take a word, read it, turn it over, write it while saying the sounds out loud and then check it for correct spelling.
They repeat this until their page is full!
